Hi, I’m James Harlow
I’ve been working on bathrooms since I was nineteen years old.
My uncle ran a small contracting business in Austin, Texas. Every summer through high school and college, I was right there with him — hauling tile, sweating through hundred-degree heat, learning how to do things the right way. By the time I was in my mid-twenties, I was running my own jobs and building a reputation for getting things done without cutting corners.
Over the past ten years, I’ve remodeled hundreds of bathrooms across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. Small half baths in starter homes. Full master bathroom overhauls in houses worth more than I’ll ever see. Rental properties, family homes, vacation houses — I’ve worked in all of them. Every single project taught me something I didn’t know the day before.
Why I Started IndoorBaths
A few years back, I noticed something. Homeowners kept asking me the same questions over and over again on job sites.
“Is this shower head actually worth the money?” “Which vanity is going to hold up and which one is going to fall apart in two years?” “Can I fix this myself or do I really need to call someone?”
Good questions. Honest questions. And most of the answers they were finding online were written by people who had never set foot in a bathroom with a wrench in their hand.
That bothered me.
So I started IndoorBaths. A place where real answers come from real experience. No filler, no fluff, no content written just to fill a page. Everything here comes from ten years of working inside American bathrooms — making mistakes, figuring things out, and learning what actually holds up over time.

I’m not here to sell you on the most expensive option. I’m here to help you make the right call for your home and your budget.
A Little More About Me
I live just outside Austin with my wife and our two kids. When I’m not writing or out on a job, you’ll find me fishing on Lake Travis or helping neighbors with weekend projects around their houses. I grew up in a family where you fixed things yourself when you could, and you called someone you trusted when you couldn’t. That’s still how I think about it today.
